NOTICE OF 2020
TAX YEAR PROPOSSED PROPERTY TAX RATE FOR CAMERON COUNTY DRAINAGE DISTRICT #1
A tax rate of $0.033 per $100 valuation has been proposed by the governing body of Cameron County Drainage District #1. This rate exceeds NO-NEW REVENUE TAX RATE AND LOWER THAT THE VOTER-APPROVAL TAX RATE, and state law requires that a public hearing be held by the governing body before adopting the proposed tax rate.
The governing body of Cameron County Drainage District #1 proposes to use revenue attributable to the tax rate increase for the purpose of General Maintenance and Operations.

The NO-NEW REVENUE tax rate is the total rate needed to raise the same amount of property tax revenue for Cameron County Drainage District #1 from the same properties in both the 2019-20 tax year and the 2020-21 tax year.
The VOTER-APPROVAL tax rate is the highest tax rate that Cameron County Drainage District #1 may adopt before having to call for an election to approve the VOTER-APPROVAL tax rate.
